Build your creative confidence with this one-day workshop! Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced artist, you’ll create a series of intuitive mini paintings that spark ideas for larger, more impactful Abstracts. Through hands-on experimentation, you’ll explore the Elements & Principles of Design in a fun and playful way—without being overwhelmed by excessive theory. Mini paintings are an excellent way to identify a strong design foundation or under structure. They allow you to explore what resonates, what doesn’t, and, most importantly, why. This process invites you to trust your creative instincts, allowing your designs to unfold organically, layer by layer, until the spark of inspiration for your next abstract design emerges. Course Objectives: · Create mini-abstract compositions that can inspire larger abstracts. · Learn how to find inspiration from reference photos, magazines, old paintings, and other visual sources. · Try spontaneous art challenges and creative exercises that focus on pure expression without overthinking. · Experiment with acrylics, inks, watercolours, or any materials you already have. · Explore mixing colour families to create harmony and connection in your work. · Learn mixed media techniques including collage, layering, organic mark-making, stamping and more expand your creative toll box. · Understand the Elements & Principles of Design in a simple, intuitive way without getting bogged down in theory. · Embrace creativity by letting go of perfectionism and exploring through play, experimentation, and hands-on experiences

Cancellation Policy

Unfortunately no refunds can occur within two weeks of the workshop or class set starting due to the difficulty to refill the spot. Your ticket or space can be given to a family member or friend so that they can take your place if needed. If you cancel before two weeks of the workshop 75% of the ticket will be refunded. Please note that some photography will be taking place at the workshop or class for media purposes. If you would not like this please let us know before or at the beginning of the workshop.
